Wintergreen Fest 2018!

Wintergreen Fest 2018

Yesterday, for the first time, the Wintergreen Festival took place in the square around the Paderborn Seagull, a bistro directly on the Lippesee instead of. The indie day festival provided a pleasant atmosphere on the small open-air grounds, where in addition to watching fresh bands, especially the peaceful coexistence was in the foreground. The main stage stood in a meadow, which encouraged some visitors to picnic in front of her in a small group. The Paderborn newcomer Blassfuchs opened the afternoon in front of not too busy house. Also during the day it was not very crowded, what the casual mood maybe even benefited. Anyway, you should keep an eye not only on Blassfuchs, but also on some other bands of the day, including Jaguwar, The Day or JAWS and And So I Watch You From Afar, who already have a name in the scene.

During the remodeling of the main stage also a second “stage” (at the same height as the audience) was recorded. Bands like Blanket, Frére and the stageheadliner Lirr provided more musical impressions. Although some of them provided a more exciting set than others, it did not feel like some bands were the crowd favorites and others were not. The Paderborners were consistently open this Saturday and seemed to enjoy listening to new sounds. It is particularly interesting that the festival gets by without a major headliner, which puts the other bands in the shade. Even if it would certainly have become even fuller with one. I also like to visit again next time and go on a musical journey of discovery, should the Wintergreen Festival be held regularly from now on.
